You’ve helped me to begin getting in touch with my body at a level I was unaware of.

I am dancing again with a new found energy. Your careful instruction and guidance got me there.
Michael B., Dancer
I went to Marco to help me with some of the tightness I feel in my upper chest and shoulders. I’m a writer and play guitar and spend a lot of time hunched over. And he was so good at raising my awareness of how I was holding my body and helping me to really feel a new way of holding my body and posture.
I left the session feeling lighter, chest open, with reduced anxiety and a sense of well being. It really did improve my mood and was totally worth the drive from Santa Monica. Marco also has incredibly positive energy and a beautiful sense of touch. His studio is really nice and it’s a very safe space in which to explore how to move more freely and heal from pain and repetitive holding patterns.

With singing I have found that my resonance (the production of sound in the vocal tract) has improved greatly by thinking “forward and up” and creating the roundness you described.

Marco has been instrumental in helping me reclaim my body and my movement. As an artist and builder, I do “hands-on” work all day long, and it had gotten to a point where I had to make some changes. Marco knows exactly what each individual requires to help them become more aware of their bodies and form habits that transform their lives. If you are an artist or creative professional and want to increase your well-being and productivity, Marco is your guy.

I was the Queen of body breakage until Marco introduced me to the Alexander Technique. It became a joke as to what I would break next. His guidance and support made me redesign both my posture and balance which gave me the gift to move confidently.

Marco’s hands are a rare find in this world. When he touches and gently adjusts or guides your body it feels effortless and collaborative, and very very gentle. It is difficult to describe these sessions to others; it feels like a combination of Alexander Technique and a constellation of other modalities, including energy work (though I don’t normally pursue energy work in its traditional forms, and he doesn’t advertise it as such) and somatic therapy. I’ve personally experienced a number of profound moments during these sessions.
Come to Marco if you are a creative soul with an open heart and a desire to know and your body in a deeper, more intuitive way. We live in a world generally starved for touch (as a gay man I find it particularly hard to find touch with other men that is safe and not sexualized, as I’m sure many women do as well), and his is a touch that comes with full trust, attention, respect and sincerity. Marco also has a real passion for helping those in the arts, and as a graphic designer I’ve appreciated the understanding and guidance that comes from paying attention to the subtleties of how I approach my body in my craft.
You’ll be doing yourself a service to experience the complex healing simplicity of Body Economics.

I recently had a running workshop with Marco and it was so inspiring. It gave my running mojo a rebirth and provided a better way to approach my gait, my form and most importantly my breathing. Marco is so precise and very detailed of how our anatomy and how movement makes a huge difference not only in running but in how we carry ourselves in daily life. Thank you Marco!

Marco gets bodies and all of their painful and exuberant complexity. He has deep insight in how bodies move, how they express, how they are linked to the mind, and how they express our souls. I have known Marco for nearly a decade now and gotten to witness his journey from being a successful business guy who loved design and endurance sports into now perhaps the only person I can think of who explicitly linking the insights of Alexander Technique to the labor of the creative class.
If you are unfamiliar with Alexander Technique it is just a bodywork/movement training method. It has been around forever and used often to help performers/dancers/singers/etc develop more presence. People also practice it to get rid of back pain etc.
I like things like Pilates, Feldenkrais, Rolfing and yoga well enough but if I want something more than just a fitness or bodywork regime…something designed to support my creative practice and me as a creative person…then I want something like Body Economics. Marco’s take on Alexander Technique is designed for creative people.
He offers local sessions as his Los Angeles studio, universities, and online.
I did a series of online sessions with Marco (I live in NYC) when I was having chronic back pain from working on a computer too much. He was able to provide me with feedback over live video on how I was sitting and standing that changed my understanding of my body.
I was able to unwind some knots internally and breath more deeply. In the end I came away with some new tools for self-diagnosing my body when it gets out of wack and ways to put it back in alignment.
Oh and Marco can speak Italian if that is useful to you.
Go give your body and mind a tune up.

I had a session with Marco last year in New York City. I have actually incorporated those techniques that he showed me that day into my daily yoga routine, to prepare myself before starting my practice. When you learn what Alexander Technique has to teach you, it is like being completely reborn. The entire world seems different, and better because you are accessing hidden energy that the body has been holding onto for your whole lifetime. I cannot believe that this is not more popular. Thank you Marco, thank you Body Economics. Highly recommended.

I did a Body Economics Running Workshop with Marco in December 2018. It really changed the way that I run. Almost immediately after the workshop, I noticed that I dropped ~30 seconds off my average mile time for long runs and felt less achy afterwards.
Roughly a month later, I realized that I also walk differently in a more natural, fluid way as a result of what I learned in the workshop. I’m still practicing and applying what I learned!
Highly recommend his method and way of teaching!
Leaving Marco’s studio after just one session, I felt more fine-tuned. My body felt spacious and open. And I had a greater appreciation for my human body.
This process is invaluable because it can be incorporated into every single facet of life.
Feeling the shift of tension releasing as Marco moved my leg, I wondered how often I allow my body to move the way it’s actually designed to move!
This technique has a soft and fluid sense about it. I was so impressed by the way Marco could feel what was being released in my body and gage what was happening with his hands just as I felt it.
I really appreciate this return to the building blocks of how we move, learning how to use our bodies to their full potential. These are tools our culture doesn’t teach us to master as we grow up, and it seems like such an obvious hole in our development. We use our bodies for everything.
After one session I can see the potential, especially in my art, to bring me back into the process and the “doing” and away from the mind-chatter and tension that builds up in my body as a result. I know this tension inhibits my work and also robs me of the pleasure of the process.

It’s unusual to receive sports technique coaching in such a loving way. It helps your body understand the purpose of the correction at a deeper level than just trying to mimic a model.
We had a group running clinic with Marco and he was guiding us (as a group and individually) to find new focal points and create mental images that allow one’s body to take off the ground and connect with the motion rather than the effort.
The way in which he presented all the concepts and developed the new skills we were exploring was beautifully done. It takes mastery to bring experienced runners to ahaa! moments about the sport. And that’s what Marco gave us.

Such an amazing morning! The Body Economics running workshop with Marco was beyond helpful, informative, engaging, fun and so well done. If you’re looking to gain speed while working more efficiently I highly recommend spending some one-on-one time with this fabulous man and instructor.
Leanne M., Triathlon Coach and Ironman Athlete
Marco is a very thoughtful and engaging instructor. With the help of props and various training tools, he successfully illustrated the mechanics of how we can move and perform more efficiently and feel better overall while running. Several of his techniques introduced have already helped my running performance. I highly recommend him for 1/1 instruction if you want to feel and perform better.
Paul M., Triathlete
I had a wonderful experience working with Marco ! He is kind, helpful and intuitive – I highly recommend him!

Over the course of the last month, since beginning the AT lessons, I have become much more aware of my body in space. I have begun to develop an understanding of the habits of my body and the ways in which those habits lack intentionality, other than as an instrument for other ends. In the process of becoming more attune to the position, support, and movement of the body, I have struggled to find new ways of holding the body that do not reduce down to a set of posture rules or guidelines. Through the one-on-one work with you, I have come to better understand the important mechanism that thinking of the body has on the real physical manifestation of the body. I am looking forward to working towards integrating the AT lessons into my daily routine.
